Doradus FC is committed to providing Financial Assistance to help players who would otherwise be unable to participate in the club soccer. Unfortunately, Doradus FC is a small club with limited resources. Therefore our scholarship programs are limited to Fairfax County assistance programs provided to clubs each season. We encourage families to apply as soon as possible and no later than three weeks prior to the start of the season, so we can send in requst to Fairfax County NCS. Players on family assistance, Medicade and free lunch programs quaify. Questions should be directed to admin@doradus.club.
Team Formation:
Pre-Academy U4 – U7 train twice a week and play in-house scrimmage event on the weekends. Competitive teams are formed based on player review during training sessions according to age groups and players of liked abilities. Teams are labeled Elite, Premier, Classic. During the review process players are evaluated based on all pertinent areas of the game for both current performance and predicted future performance. During the process, evaluations from multiple staff coaches will be taken into account in order to be selected to a team.
REGISTRATION:
All players are REQUIRED to register online on our LeagueApps platform (Current players must Re-Register for the Spring 2023 Season). If you are not able to register within 24 hours of the first scheduled training session, you should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the first session to register on site.
Commitment:
Doradus Players commit to their program for the entire 2022-2023 seasonal year. Teams typically practice 2-3 times a week and play official games or festival games on weekends throughout the season. In addition, teams may have 'offseason' activities. Commitment is typically higher for more competitive teams where there may be additional required sessions in the winter and summer.

What sets Doradus apart from the rest? Our goal for each child is to develop strong highly skilled soccer players, in a safe and fun environment. The professional soccer Coaches and Technical Directors on our staff, are highly qualified instructors. Children in our pre-academy / academy train, play and develop a passion for the sport. Let us prepare your child for his/her successful soccer journey.
How does it work? We are looking for boys and girls Ages 4 - 12 years old. There are no tryouts and no child will be denied an opportunity to join. Our coaching staff will offer “Player ID sessions” (Player Identification Sessions) to further develop each child individually. This gives parents and program managers an opportunity to see if their child is ready to engage in a more structured soccer environment. “Player pools” will be created from the ID Sessions. Each player group will enjoy two training sessions during the week, and weekend games in collaboration with other club programs or our In-house matches.. The players will train alongside other Doradus Travel team players and experience a full club oriented program. Mature U9 - Older players will compete in the NCSL and Tournaments. NextGen Program or other organized competitive programs with play in festival Saturday events or i-house programs to further their development in the sport.
What’s the big picture? The mission of Doradus’ Pre-Academy, Academy and (PDP) Player Development Programs is multifaceted. Emphasis is placed on “individual” player development instead of team development. A great example of how we do this is utilizing the ‘Player Pool” model. This model is used successfully at other top club programs around the county. Skill set development in the areas of: Agility, flexibility, mobility, balance, speed, coordination and motor skills are paramount. Developing all of these key skills are necessary to become a highly successful soccer player. Doradus FC will help build your child’s foundation and sound knowledge of the game.
How are Doradus' Programs different from local Recreational Soccer Programs? When comparing recreational soccer programs to Pre-Academy, Academy, PDP or travel soccer programs in the country, these programs provide by far higher skill levels of the development. In most cases, these focus programs are more likely to demonstrate better technical skills and sharper knowledge and understanding of the game. One of the most important advantages of enrolling your child in Doradus' Programs is the individualized professional training while having fun.
Doradus Training sessions and League Games? The primary training sessions are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays (6:15 pm – 8:00 pm) at Franconia District Park, Springfield VA. Satellite sessions are held in other surrounding areas in Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia based on field availability and number of players in the pool. Training locations can also vary depending on availability and weather conditions within these general area.
What is the cost? The full cost of the regular season is very low (includes training, league play, festival games, etc:-). Note: Uniforms not include in team fees. Cost will be posted in the each season announcements.
